What is Zula Casino, in one minute?
Quick answer
Zula Casino is a free-to-play sweepstakes casino for U.S. players, run by SCPS LLC. You play slots and other casino-style games with Gold Coins (just for fun) or Sweeps Coins (which you can redeem for cash prizes after you win them). New accounts get 120,000 GC + 10 SC, and you never have to buy anything to play.
If you've never tried a sweepstakes casino, here's the short version. It isn't real-money gambling. You can't deposit cash and bet it. Instead, you get two kinds of coins. Gold Coins are pure entertainment and have no cash value. Sweeps Coins are handed out free (at sign-up, every day, by mail) and as a bonus when you buy Gold Coin packages. Win with Sweeps Coins, play them through, and you can redeem them for prizes.
That's also why it's legal in most of the country, and why a handful of states have opted out. More on that below, or read Gold Coins vs Sweeps Coins for the full explanation.

Step by step
Getting started without the usual mistakes
Five steps, maybe ten minutes. The order matters a little, so here's the one we'd follow.
Check your state first
If you live in one of the 15 excluded states, stop here. You'd be able to create an account but not take part in sweepstakes play, and it's not worth the hassle.
Sign up on the official site or app
Go to zulacasino.com or grab the app from the App Store or Google Play. Registration gets you 20,000 GC + 2 SC right away.
Verify your phone
This is the single biggest part of the welcome package: 30,000 GC + 3 SC. It takes about a minute.
Finish the remaining steps
Opt in to email and SMS, claim your first daily bonus, and link Facebook and Google if you're comfortable with that. That's the full 120,000 GC + 10 SC.
Verify your ID before you need to
Zula checks your identity before paying out prizes. Doing it early means you're not waiting later when you actually want to redeem.
Eligibility
Where can you play Zula Casino?
Zula is open to players 18 and over across most of the U.S. But its sweepstakes rules exclude these 15 states:
- California
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Idaho
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Louisiana
- Maine
- Michigan
- Montana
- Nevada
- New Jersey
- New York
- Tennessee
- Washington
Florida is allowed, with one catch: any single Sweeps Coins play is capped at a win of under 5,000. The PLAYNOW777 promo code page also lists Kentucky as restricted for that particular offer.
State laws around sweepstakes casinos have been changing quickly, so this list may grow. If you're close to a border or you travel a lot, check the official sweepstakes rules before you sign up. Our Zula Casino Legal States page has the status of all 50 states.
Redemptions
How cashing out works
This is the part most people skip until it's too late. Here's what the rules actually say.
Only Sweeps Coins count
Gold Coins can never be redeemed. Sweeps Coins you win through gameplay can, once any playthrough on them is done.
50 SC minimum
You need at least 50 redeemable SC to request a prize. The rules value 100 SC at $100, so that's a $50 minimum.
Expect an ID check
Zula verifies who you are before paying. The rules say verification can take up to a month once they have your documents, so get it done early.
Don't let coins expire: Sweeps Coins are forfeited 60 days after your last login. Logging in once in a while (and grabbing the daily bonus while you're there) keeps them alive. The full process is in Zula Casino Redemption.

It publishes official sweepstakes rules, offers a free mail-in way to get Sweeps Coins, lists its apps on the App Store and Google Play under SCPS LLC, and verifies your identity before paying out. The most common complaint is the ID checks at cash-out, so it's smart to verify your account early.
